259 Word Story

"I don't know if you have been at such a point in your life, a point where you've hit rock bottom and have been completely crushed. You soon find yourself trying to pick up the broken shards that represent your life but everything seems so bleak, so out of reach and you can't help but suffocate from the immense pain that is engulfing you. The world is screaming at you to give up, to stay down and you try to fight it, to tune it out but you can't. Soon it gets to you, you realize how tired and worn out you are from all these years of tribulations and you start sobbing because even you yourself have reached your breaking point. You start to understand what the world is telling you, that it's better to stay down because it hurts less. But at that very moment just as you're about to throw in the towel, something stirs in you. The small voice in your head begins reminding you that you're a survivor and like all the other times before, you are going to make it through. That though it's going to hurt, you're gonna make it out alive, stronger and wiser. You take a moment to consolidate your thoughts and then you do something that surprises everyone, even yourself. You begin grovelling, with a tear-stained face and gritted teeth, with bloody hands and scraped knees, you use that last ounce of strength within you to keep on going, to continue persevering till the very day you emerge victorious."
