Traveller At Heart

"When I say I want to travel I don’t mean I want to stay at resorts and go on tours with tour guides or buy key chains from souvenir shops. I don’t want to be a tourist. When I say I want to travel I mean I want to explore another country and become part of it. I want to discover small coffee shops in Germany and Italy and France. I want to walk on beaches in Australia and browse the book stores of England. I want to hike the Great Wall of China and go cliff diving in Hawaii I want to meet people who are not like me, but people who I can like all the same. I want to take pictures of things and places and people I meet. I want my mind to be in constant awe of life on earth. I want to see things with new eyes. I want to look at a map and be able to remember how I was transformed by the places I’ve been to the things I’ve seen and the people I’ve met. I want to come home and realize that I have not come home whole but have left a piece of my heart in each place I have been. This, I think, is what is at the heart of Adventure and this is why I plan on making my life one."

Safe Haven

Been planning my bedroom makeover for ages now but I seemed to find anything that I really resonated with. however recently when scouring the web for inspiration, I chanced upon these beautiful simplistic minimalist monochromatic themed rooms and I fell in love instantly. In my opinion, your bedroom is a place that you can call your own personal safe haven. It is where you feel the most at ease, a place that you can find relief after a long tedious day.

With this 6.5 month stint coming to an end, I'm finally going to have some time on my hands to work on my own personal projects that have been procrastinated for the longestttt time. Really am truly excited to put the pieces together and to make my safe haven come to life.

259 Word Story

"I don't know if you have been at such a point in your life, a point where you've hit rock bottom and have been completely crushed. You soon find yourself trying to pick up the broken shards that represent your life but everything seems so bleak, so out of reach and you can't help but suffocate from the immense pain that is engulfing you. The world is screaming at you to give up, to stay down and you try to fight it, to tune it out but you can't. Soon it gets to you, you realize how tired and worn out you are from all these years of tribulations and you start sobbing because even you yourself have reached your breaking point. You start to understand what the world is telling you, that it's better to stay down because it hurts less. But at that very moment just as you're about to throw in the towel, something stirs in you. The small voice in your head begins reminding you that you're a survivor and like all the other times before, you are going to make it through. That though it's going to hurt, you're gonna make it out alive, stronger and wiser. You take a moment to consolidate your thoughts and then you do something that surprises everyone, even yourself. You begin grovelling, with a tear-stained face and gritted teeth, with bloody hands and scraped knees, you use that last ounce of strength within you to keep on going, to continue persevering till the very day you emerge victorious."

春节 2014

除夕; Chinese New Year Eve
Early end to the work day lead to a nice quiet stroll along the Causeway Bay typhoon shelter whilst catching glimpses of the sky as it faded into warm shades of orange and pink. There's just something so comforting about watching the sun fade into the horizon because it comes along with an unspoken promise of a new dawn and somehow I know that everything is going to be ok.

I soon found myself joining the flower market festivities going on at Victoria Park. Squeezing into packed lanes while watching stall owners touting their goods and walking through lanes of gorgeous blossoms, it was a pretty interesting to experience the holidays the ways the locals do.

初一; Chinese New Year Day One

Spent hours prancing around the rooftop of my building cause I had this obsessive need for an escape but didn't have the luxury of time. Thank God for rooftops escapades that allows me some form of escapism for a little while. Took some time to catch a breather and to allows my thoughts to roam free once again.

初二; Chinese New Year Day Two
A night full of fun, friends and fireworks. During moments like this, I'm reminded of how blessed I am and how glad I am to be alive and well ♡

初三; Chinese New Year Day Three
3am massages and gorgeous sunny blue skies in Shenzhen to welcome the third day of spring festival.

初四; Chinese New Year Day Four
Went on a cycling expedition and somehow we found ourselves cycling 50km between Tai Wai and Tai Mei Tuk. Trust me, the ride was tough with my screwed up bike and the scorching sun beaming down on us but I just loved everything about today, the gorgeous scenery and the amazing company.
